The Creative Chain - Website Design

The Brief

The Creative Chain is a networking group for creative and digital agencies across the Black Country and was setup by Duncan Price (WMM), Matt Weston (Stone's Throw Media), Caz Smith (TP Squared), Gurpreet Dhillon (Digital D) and Chris Green. The aim of the project is to not only get local agencies to collaborate but to also show how talented agencies are across the Black Country and that you dont need to go to Birmingham, London, Manchester etc to get a high level service.

A website was needed and this is stage 1 of the project showing what the Creative Chain is about, displaying upcoming events and allowing local agencies to register to go on the directory which we will use to show how many talented local agencies.

The Approach

Our approach was to first setup a landing page for people to register, as we are a busy agency and everyone involved are non paid volunteers it had to be done between projects.

First of all we did all the design work and got it okayed with the other members of the Creative Chain and then we went into build as we really wanted it live before the November 23 meetup. We did manage to get it complete and we had some great feedback at the meetup which was great news and warmly accepted.

Branding

The Creative Chain was named in reference to the creative industry and the chain represents the Black Country and networking too. As the brand was representing all the creative agencies across the Black Country we really needed to make sure it was well thought out and representational of what we are trying to achieve. When it was shown to various companies it was really recieved well.

Web Design

The website is a fully bespoke design based on WordPress cms and is only at stage 1 at present, the new areas we will be adding in the future will be a jobs section, sponsors section and also taking feedback from members of anything else they would like to see.
