S&D Non Ferrous Website Design

The Brief

We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Paul from his time at Metelec, so it was a great opportunity to collaborate with him again on his new venture, S&D Non Ferrous. From the outset, it was clear that the existing website had several functionality issues and outdated elements that were holding the brand back online.

Starting from scratch gave us the perfect chance to rebuild the site properly, using WordPress as the content management system. This allowed us to create a modern, reliable, and user-friendly platform that not only performs well but is also easy to update and scale as the business grows.

The Approach

From the start, our focus was on delivering a clean slate for S&D Non Ferrous — one that would eliminate the limitations of the previous website and give the brand a strong, modern digital presence. We began by understanding the core needs of the business, identifying key content areas, and mapping out a simplified user journey to make it easy for customers to navigate and find product information quickly.

Using WordPress as the foundation, we developed a fully custom site that offers both flexibility and long-term scalability. The backend was built with usability in mind, ensuring the S&D team can easily manage content updates in-house. Every element of the site — from the layout to functionality — was designed to reflect the professionalism and reliability of the S&D Non Ferrous brand.

We also focused on performance, ensuring the site loads quickly, works seamlessly across all devices, and is optimised for search engines from day one. The result is a future-ready platform that not only looks great but supports growth, enquiries, and customer engagement.

Branding

As the existing branding was already well-established, we kept it intact while ensuring the new website complemented it perfectly. To reflect the non-ferrous focus of the business, we introduced a subtle copper-toned design theme throughout the site, adding a distinctive visual touch that ties in seamlessly with the industry and enhances the overall aesthetic.
