The Brief

Caren and Richard from Johnson Fellows approached us to provide a proposal for a new website after experiencing ongoing issues with their existing one. Following several productive meetings—and taking into account their recent rebrand—we developed a solid understanding of the direction they wanted to move in.

Their brief centred on creating a modern, contemporary look paired with improved functionality, including seamless integration with key property listing platforms. To meet these needs, we designed and built a completely bespoke front end, powered by the WordPress CMS for flexibility, scalability, and ease of management.

The result is a fresh, future-proof website that reflects their updated brand identity and delivers the enhanced performance and usability they were looking for.

The Approach

Our approach started with taking a close look at the competition so we could understand what works, what doesn’t, and where we could stand out. With those insights in place, we then shaped a clear, user-focused strategy to guide the website build.

Then it was straight into designing the homepage. We created a fully interactive Figma prototype that allowed the Johnson Fellows team to experience the layout, navigation, and overall feel of the site before any development began. The concept was very well received, and once approved, we applied the same structured design process to all internal pages to ensure consistency, clarity, and a seamless user journey.

Development was the next stage, where we brought the approved designs to life using the WordPress CMS combined with bespoke front-end development. Leveraging our streamlined, stripped-back WordPress framework, we were able to deliver a build that not only matched the visuals precisely but also achieved exceptionally fast page load speeds and a smooth user experience.

The branding for Johnson Fellows had recently been completed, giving us a strong visual foundation to work from. We incorporated the new brand assets—colour palette, typography, imagery, and tone—directly into the website design, ensuring the digital experience aligned perfectly with their refreshed identity.
