The Brief before

The Brief

Ben came to West Midlands Media with a new business idea to sell a wide range of the highest quality Personalised Gifts, the brief was really left to us to work out. The only thing we needed to make sure of is that the company had a high end, elegant brand identity that reflected the quality of the products.

As it was a new business and there was no company name, so it really was a start from scratch project.

The next stage was to come up with the brief for Ben of the direction and styling that we would like to take this amazing project in.

The Approach

Projects like this are what we love, where we start from the very beginning and have free reign as the client hasn't really got a set direction.

First of all was deciding on a company name and after producing a list of variations and whittling them down His & Hers Personalised Gifts was born.

Next was deciding on the brand design and we knew we wanted a brand that would display as the full company name or just abreviated to the initials.

Finally was the website itself which involved a lot of research for category names and making sure they were highly searched for on Google. Once this was performed the website was wireframed for Ben's approval so we could then move forward to design.

What can we say about the His and Hers branding apart from the client loved it as much as we did, a secondary version of the brand was designed too, so it could be abreviated to the h&h which looks like a leading brand in itself.

There wasn't many brand variations designed as after a design meeting we already had a clear view of fontsets, colours and the approach we would take to achieve a logo that looks high class.

We feel the brand has a feel of a company that has been established with a great history, it gives the flavour of great customer service and that it only sources the highest quality personalised products too.

Web Design

The website was strategically designed to match the brand, which is defined as a high end company offering the best personalised gifts available on the market. It really needed to be something special to stand out against the masses of competition in this industry.

We are extremely proud of the look and feel of the site and the ability to change the offers, graphics and navigation to match occassions throughout the year. As there is so many products to be loaded on to the site, we made this simple with a CSV upload facility and custom filtering so products can seamlessly be inserted into multiple categories.
