Handsworth Neighbourhood Watch Web Design

The Brief

As we know Handsworth doesn't have the greatest reputation as an area so Palma and his team decided the best way to better the area was to get all the Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in Handsworth to come together. This gave them a much bigger voice with the council and the police to get things sorted quicker.

West Midlands Media came in to help on the project by designing and developing a new website where people can see when meetings are, action that is happening in the area, get more volunteers and also report issues within the area.

The Approach

We have worked with Palma on various projects over many years, and know that Palma has the trust for us to go ahead and work on the project without much help.

We firstly decided to use WordPress for the content management system and then in this rare circumstance we built the website without guidance or showing designs before moving from stage to stage.

Abbey did all the design work whilst building the site and we then added all content before showing Palma.

We couldn't wait to show him once it was completed and he was over the moon with the results and there were no tweaks from his part.

As it was a community project we offered a reduce rate to help with the cause and also help with adding events and news etc....

Branding

As they are a certified Neighbourhood Watch we were permitted to use the Neighbourhood Watch branding and just added the area to the side of the new logo.

We then followed the styling throughout the site so it all looks uniform.

Web Design

The end result was more than what Palma expected so we was over the moon at his reaction and can only thank Palma for helping him with another project, especially a project that helps people lead better lives within their community.
