Digbeth Dining Club

The Brief before

The Brief

James from Digbeth Dining Club approached us because their current website was a little dated and didnt offer a content management system. This presented challenges since Digbeth Dining Club frequently hosts events, yet they were unable to add these to the site so customers could see what was on and when.

Initially, we arranged a meeting with James, Jack, and their team to discuss all the requirements. Armed with this information, we headed back to WMM HQ to dive into our research and planning. Our primary objective was to craft a strategy that would deliver a website that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also packed with the requisite functionality. This would enable the website to be managed in-house and updated as required.

After extensive research, we revisited our discussions with the team at Digbeth Dining Club. We had conceived additional ideas aimed at enhancing user experience and streamlining event management. Now, customers can view the event details, see which entertainment acts are scheduled, access YouTube clips, and crucially, find out which street food brands will be serving on any given evening, complete with their menus.

The Approach

Once the plan was agreed upon, we initiated the process by wireframing a new homepage. This crucial step was informed by in-depth research into the target market and their specific requirements, ensuring that all stakeholders were aligned on the content's placement before we delved into the actual design.

Upon consensus, we crafted the homepage and were met with resoundingly positive feedback. Our subsequent task was the design of the internal pages. It was paramount to ensure that site navigation was seamless across all devices, information was lucidly presented, and, importantly, any user interactions were straightforward. This simplicity was especially vital considering the diverse age demographics within Digbeth Dining Club's target audience.

Branding

Branding

Since Digbeth Dining Club already had established brand guidelines, our role was to adhere to these guidelines, ensuring the new website consistently used the appropriate fonts, color palette, image styles, and tone of voice.

Web Design

The new website was a complete custom build and uses the WordPress content management system so the DDC team can add/edit and delete all content on the new website.

Needless to say we loved working with the Digbeth Dining Club team and really look forward to a long term relationship helping enhance there online presence.

The Web Design
one of the best decisions we have made in years

"Making the change over to West Midlands Media was one of the best decisions we have made in years. From minute one Rob, Duncan, Abbey and the whole gang have been first class in understanding us as a business and then knowing how that translates into a really smart user-friendly website. Really hands on, quick to respond and nothing is ever too much trouble."
