The Brief

Clarke Transport approached West Midlands Media after having a bad experience with another web agency who didn’t understand the brief and in turn, the website never went live. 

Initially, we spoke to Gary in great depth to really understand the Clarke's brand, their services and what they wanted to achieve with their new website.  As Clarke's are an extremely well-known freight company one of the key factors was to have a clean, corporate feel that followed their brand and brand guidelines to a T.

Clarke's have been trading as a family company since 1933 so the history of the company was extremely important and of course getting across the services so the user can clearly see what they offer, why they should use Clarke's and an easy way of contacting Clarke's.

The Approach

As always the West Midlands Media approach started with extensive research into the company, its history, services and competitors too. Once the research was completed we then took this data and initially structured a wireframe of how the website will be laid out and allow Clarke’s to see what we propose before starting any design work.

Taking this approach always works well as our clients get a great feel of what we propose and of course get to tweak elements until the proposed plan suits not only Clarke’s but their present and future clients too.

As Clarke Transport already had a strong brand that had been established for many years and is nationally recognised we followed suit with all the new design work.

West Midlands Media made sure that all brand guidelines were strictly followed which included the logo, brand colour codes, fonts, typography, imagery and tone of voice too. The mixture of the current branding and the new website blended seamlessly to help further strengthen the brand recognition of Clarke Transport.

The website once complete was highly welcomed by the Clarke’s Transport team, the brand is now extremely strong and there is no doubt that this website belongs to Clarke’s just through the brand colours and visualisation.

Services are clear, precise and offer clear imagery, content, reasons to choose and of course making sure the call to actions, contact details and forms are always within reach for the user.

Since completing the site the guys have been so pleased that we took the time to understand their requirements whilst they understood our comments and ideas too. This has given them further inspiration to add new elements like offering training courses and careers to name a few.

We really enjoyed working with Clarke’s Transport and we are extremely proud to have them as a long term client and be able to be classed as part of the Clarke’s family.
