Active My Way

The Brief

The guys from Staffordshire Council sent out the tender for Active My Way and unfortunately we were so busy we couldn't react to the tender. When the tender came to an end we were approached again and given extra time to complete the tender which we did, from sending our proposal we were then accepted to fulfill the project.

It was great that we got this opportunity as the guys were great to work with and it was a really exciting project to be involved in!

The brief was to design and develop Active My Way a portal to get people more active in the Staffordshire area, it also give professionals like doctors a resource to pass to patients to so they can find activities for people with the same goals.

The platform itself was to be completely custom design but based on a WordPress content management system.

Unfortunately Covid hit through the build so the website had to be tweaked in a slightly different direction due to group activities being cancelled.

The Approach

Our approach to this project was to firstly have a sit down meeting with the client, we had a lengthy chinwag about the project in further detail and get to really understand what goals the website had to achieve. After a thorough meeting we had all the answers to our questions and with no delay we started the design process of the build.

One of the main points we had to take into consideration was accessibility and make sure the website was w3c compliant too.

Branding

The branding had just been approved before we started the project and we felt it was very modern and fresh and a great start point to move forward following all the set brand guidelines.

The brand colours and fonts played a big part in the design and really brought the project to life!

Web Design

As with all projects we started with the homepage design and once we sent it over the guys loved it and with a couple of tweaks it was time to design all the internal pages. These were then sent over to the client for approval and once again a couple of minor tweaks and we were good to go into development.

The WMM team were excited to get the site into development and it soon came together and we made sure the site is fully w3c compliant with accessibility for people with poor sight too.

Content was added to the site and then full quality testing was performed before it was passed over to the client for approval. With all in check and the client fully trained with the content management system it was time to go live!
